I started my week with a mimosa, beach side, in 84º weather in Ft. Lauderdale with girlfriends. What can top that you say?

Ending the week with the most loyal friends, family and clients. If you have a business of your own, you soon find out that your company is your baby, your passion. It's a give-everything-you-got attitude to get the job done better than perfect. Someone once said to me, "You'll always be the one that cares the most" (referring to owning your own business). While I understand that, I am also astounded and speechless by the loyalty you have to my "baby". I will forever be grateful for that.

This week I watched Silverbox move up the charts in a Party Planning contest. At the beginning of the week, I was just happy to be on the list with the 150 industry super stars. I never imagined we'd be in 13th place by week's end because of your votes.

I sincerely thank you.

A few other Silverbox in-the-news items... Blurb chose one of our book designs for book of the week! While we can't take most of the credit, due to it's extraordinary contents, we did have a hand in it. You can view it here. I'm telling you, it's a must read/see. The book's artist is Millicent Harvey. One of the most extraordinary photographers that I have met in my lifetime.

Sunday is filled with communion sessions. All boys! I can't wait for those handsome fellows.

Next week I'm getting ready to gear up and head to BrandCamp and mingle with some of the most passionate business owners in our industry. I am so looking forward to this.

Here's to another great week behind us. TGIF

It is with mixed emotions that I let everyone know that today is our dearest Michelle's last day at Silverbox. She is moving on to other endeavors, but will thankfully be available to us from time to time. I look at it as a beginning of a new way of living, and not a good bye, although I will surely miss her smiling face on a daily basis. She has been a fan favorite to many of our customers, as well as mine. After 3 1/2 years together in the same studio certain things happen over time and my employee turned into a friend. My wish is that she may never be afraid to dance with the stars and follow her dreams.

With much appreciation for a wonderful 3 1/2 years, Susan

May you live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Appreciate your friends. Continue to learn. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is.

so very thankful

I've been a little light on the blog posts the past few days, as Silverbox has never been busier. I can't wait to show you all that we've been working on. We keep the holiday photos and client's card designs under wraps until they're all sent out, but look for some of these really soon! We are thankful for so many new clients and of course, our wonderful tried and true veterans. During this very busy time of year some days can be a bit challenging, but then you get something like the letter below to remind you that it's all worth it. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for each and every kind word.

Susan, Ever since you sent us a link to our photos a month ago, I've been meaning to email you.  You did it again! The photos are absolutely breathtaking - just beautiful!  This is our third year doing holiday photos with you and every year it's the same thing.  The photo session with you is always an absolute joy.  You are professional, yet fun and the hour flies by.  Yet when you leave, I always think the same thing - I don't think we got any good family pictures this year because we were never all smiling, I don't think there are any pictures of Jamie because he never sat still,  it goes on and on.  Then, just a few days later, you send me a link to our photos.  This year it was just like all the other years - I opened the link to a wonderful surprise that somehow, magically, you got many great family photos!  And Jamie, who never sat still or seemed to smile, is in dozens of beautiful pictures, smiling, playing and even sitting still!  Baby Annie, who didn't seem to do anything, but look confused, is in dozens of pictures too, smiling and playing, thinking and giggling.  Somehow you captured it all - you captured our family, just as we are, yet somehow beautiful.  I can't thank you enough!

Your client for life, Lesli
