I started my week with a mimosa, beach side, in 84º weather in Ft. Lauderdale with girlfriends. What can top that you say?

Ending the week with the most loyal friends, family and clients. If you have a business of your own, you soon find out that your company is your baby, your passion. It's a give-everything-you-got attitude to get the job done better than perfect. Someone once said to me, "You'll always be the one that cares the most" (referring to owning your own business). While I understand that, I am also astounded and speechless by the loyalty you have to my "baby". I will forever be grateful for that.

This week I watched Silverbox move up the charts in a Party Planning contest. At the beginning of the week, I was just happy to be on the list with the 150 industry super stars. I never imagined we'd be in 13th place by week's end because of your votes.

I sincerely thank you.

A few other Silverbox in-the-news items... Blurb chose one of our book designs for book of the week! While we can't take most of the credit, due to it's extraordinary contents, we did have a hand in it. You can view it here. I'm telling you, it's a must read/see. The book's artist is Millicent Harvey. One of the most extraordinary photographers that I have met in my lifetime.

Sunday is filled with communion sessions. All boys! I can't wait for those handsome fellows.

Next week I'm getting ready to gear up and head to BrandCamp and mingle with some of the most passionate business owners in our industry. I am so looking forward to this.

Here's to another great week behind us. TGIF

vintage circus invitation

Each year I have the distinct honor of designing the invitations for this school's Fun Fair. This year's theme...the Circus. I decided to step outside of the box and not use the expected red, but create more of a light an airy vintage look.

I simply rolled up a white sheet of paper into a cone and wrapped tulle around it. It was as easy as that! These invitations will be hand delivered to each classroom, bagged up as you'd see it at the circus. Ooh, I can't wait to do this for a little girl's circus vintage pink birthday. Any takers?...step right up!

communion invitation + photo session

Introducing a true Super Star! Don't let these formal photos fool you. We talked about our favorite American Idol, iCarley, and girly conversation the entire session. We had a casual shoot a week or two in advance to design communion invitations, and the formal pictures at a later time, that will be displayed on her special day with a canvas and easel.

We like to consider ourselves a one-stop-shop for your special event needs. From invitations to thank you notes and everything in-between. Thank you to this beautiful family for entrusting Silverbox for your very special day.

Here's a new blog we designed for www.danabradley.com. Her photography, personality and aesthetics are breathtaking. Dana came to us with a lovely logo designed by the fabulous folks over at Luxetera. We went ahead with created a blog and feel and then handed the project of to Theresa at Blogs For Photogs for  the technical portion of the project. That's what you call team work! In the end, I think we'd call Dana's style, a nice and crisp breathe of fresh air! If you're ever in the Myrtle Beach Area & Coastal South Carolina and would love a photo session, I can think of no one better. We love you Dana!

I'm making it a little personal today. My daughter's coming home for spring break this afternoon and it has been such a bitter sweet sort of week. Enjoy your kiddos every moment they're here. To all of you that have a child in college, or are leaving soon...I recently met a gal that mentioned she texted her college daughter every night before she went to bed. She said, "Just a simple good night is all that's needed." She mentioned, you never know what you'll get. Some nights it a simple, "You, too Mom" and other nights could be much more. I took this advice about two weeks ago after meeting this new friend, and it's been such a nice way to end the day. The joys of technology, I'll will utilize for love.

Everyone tells you they grow up so fast. You hear it all the time. Heed their words. They're so real. I remember taking this photo of my daughter at age three like it was yesterday. In the blink of an eye it's fifteen years later.

Time will never stand still and those moments that bring us such joy become memories in an instant. To capture such a moment and record it forever is truly monumental. ~Joshua Atticks
