morning to-do list

Every year I design a back-to-school morning to-do check list for my kids. Boy, how this sheet of paper saves so much morning hassle and heartache. It teaches responsibility and keeps me from breathing down their neck to make sure everything is remembered. I thought I'd post our family list this year in hopes that it may give you a little extra time and peace of mind during your a.m. routine. Best wishes for a relaxing morning full of sunshine! Free printable is for personal use only.

free printable lunch box notes

I guess it's that time of year again. Back to a regimented schedule and cooler air. (Personally, my favorite time of year.) I usually try and get a little creative to make the back-to-school routine fun for my girls in hopes that it'll bring a little smile to their face in the middle of the day. I thought I'd design a page full of printable lunch notes for you to sneak into your child's lunch box from time to time to share with your kiddos! Any interest in personalizing lunch notes specifically for your own kids? Do you have something you say to them everyday? Do they have a favorite color or sport? If so, we can most certainly create a custom page just for you. If these are fine, go right ahead a print to your liking. Happy back-to-school! Enjoy!  Available for personal use only.

totally 80's contest winner

Thank you for the overwhelming response to our "totally 80's contest". Our inbox was filled to the max, and trust us, it was hard to select a winner. Although all the photos were highly amusing, we did manage to narrow it down. We are pleased to announce that the winner is...Beth Job!

Her hair was the largest by far, and the gigantic hoop earrings were a nice touch. Well done Beth, well done! Your prize is on it's way!

winning entry:

I didn’t realize the depth of my mother’s love until I became a mother. I knew that she loved me because she showed me every day. She was there for me, day in and day out, everyday. Dad worked and went to school, but my mom was always there. She never went to get her nails done, rarely went shopping without one of us kids, and she never went out to lunch with friends. Mom stayed home and took care of us. I took it for granted, but I know the value of it now. I was blessed, and I still am.

Now, when I call her, she is still there. She listens to me complain about the homework, the endless laundry, and the carpools. Unlike my friends who commiserate with me, she tells me how much she misses those days. She encourages me to treasure every minute because these days will be gone all too soon.

Long ago mom told me that the fingerprints that I wipe from the walls will work their way up until one day, they disappear. I’m starting to realize what she meant. I’m so grateful for her wisdom and so blessed to have her in my life.
