If there was a reason to wear a ball gown everyday I would. On the flip side, I'm also the proud owner of a Fantasy Football team for 18 years. My ringtone is the Fox NFL jingle. A little diverse, huh? Yep, while I design fancy invitations, I can also switch gears and create a Fantasy Football logo to commemorate our 20th Anniversary Season. Just keeping it real.

Happy Friday folks! We close out Branding week with one of the kindest souls you'd ever meet. Terry Lee Cafferty of Lovesome Images. We've been designing with Lovesome for years, and every meeting, phone or in-person is better than the last. Her photography has such a gentle feeling which reflects her personality. We're honored to design for Terry Lee and look forward to many years to come. Learn more about this awesome gal below.

Tell us a little bit about yourself? I grew up surrounded by a large family in Connecticut, lived in Los Angeles for 10 years studying and working in photography, and I am now married to my musician, singer & songwriter husband for 25 years & blessed to be the momma of two amazing boys, Shane & Jackson ages 20 & 13.  I am a seeker of truth and whole-hearted living. I enjoy connecting with people and creating connections between like-minded people.  I'm a fine art portrait artist & I have too many "loves" to mention but at the top of the list is God, family & friends, my doggies, laughter, music, dancing, photographing babies & children and, of course, photography itself because it is a way for me to express these loves and allows all of us to return to these moments forever.  Life slips past us in the blink of an eye. I want you to remember how beautiful your life is. How miracles have a magical way of working in your life.

Where is home? South Kingstown, Rhode Island.  My studio is five minutes away in the historic seaside village of Charlestown.

How long have you been a photographer? My experience as a photographer spans over 25 years photographing everything from still life, photojournalism to editorial work and eventually fine art portraiture, including hand-tinted portraits.

How would you describe your style? My style is timeless, intimate and soulful, but also easy & fun with a documentary approach.

How has your new brand changed your business? My new Silverbox identity has absolutely helped me establish myself and my business in today's market.  I am so proud of it!  Susan Sidoriak is amazing and so easy to work with.  She has a very special talent of tuning right into who you are and developing a brand that fits like a glove.  My identity has succeeded in changing my business by positioning my brand's unique signature while showing the true essence of my style of photography, representing me in an authentic, simple classic uncomplicated way.

Can you give me a fun, random bit of trivia about yourself?  When I lived in Los Angeles, I had many different jobs to support myself while I learned the craft photography and one of them was (don't laugh) teaching aerobics.  I landed the job of training an all girl punk rock band in order to get them in physical shape to star in an independent movie called "The Runnin' Kind".    Even better, I had the opportunity to be the "Still Photographer" on the movie set which was a dream come true for me at the time.  Cool beans….  http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/the-runnin-kind/  (yes, I took that photo on the front of the video!)

Also, when I lived in Los Angeles, I worked closely with an incredible children's photographer and my mentor, Jana Taylor.   We volunteered our time building her non-profit organization called "The American Child Foundation for the Arts"…every Friday, we taught photography classes to inner-city children on Skid Row and it was honestly one of the most fulfilling and wonderful experiences of my life.  http://www.people.com/people/archive/article/0,,20119945,00.html

What's in your camera bag?  I use very simple equipment because I am less interested in the latest and the greatest as I am in making my equipment work for me by not having to be too pre-occupied with it.  I  use my equipment  as an extension of myself and my vision.  Once I master my equipment, to me, it is the same as having another arm or hand that just helps me to do what I need to do. I am not one to change it up easily because I don't enjoy the technical learning curve as much as some people who love photography do.  So, although I do get excited to get a new camera body or lens, I need to master it before I feel 100% comfortable photographing with it. My camera bag includes a Canon 5D Mark II body and a Canon 5D body as a back up.  My go to all-time favorite prime lens is the 85mm 1.2 portrait lens and I use the 50mm 1.2 lens for groups and families.  I love, love, love the 100mm 2.8 macro lens for my obsession with flowers, and I also use two zoom lenses:  a 24-70mm 2.8 for tight situations that I need to adjust to quickly and that big daddy of a lens, the 70-200mm 2.8 for all of my kid's sporting events and school activities, etc., but I don't think I have ever used that lens for portrait sessions.  Lastly, of course, I can't forget my light meter which is one of the most important pieces of equipment that I use.  I don't like to depend on camera meters for lighting because they can vary so much.

What is your best business tip for photographers just starting a business? My best business tip for photographers just starting a business is to look within and discover what makes you unique & special.  Specialize in what you LOVE and feel PASSIONATE about.   Avoid trends and stay true to yourself so that your marketing reflects your signature style.  Keep your priorities in place and never forget why you love what you're doing.  Business and dealing with people can be challenging , so you need to stay confident in your vision in order to sell your photography business with integrity and authenticity.

If I could have the fan fare and music playing during this post, I would. Corlee Graphics is one-of-a-kind and I'm pretty sure they can't fit any more passion into what they do. Corinne is one of those gals that you feel like you've known your entire life from the first visit. If you ask, I'm sure she'll do the soft shoe while taking your photos! Tell us a little bit about yourself? · Married to Tavio for 18 years. · One 15-year old son, Addison. · Two 4-year old shih-tzu fur-babes Tiger & Lulu. · I drink a lot of coffee and I love to dance. · I love Michael Jackson & Barry Manilow and yes, I say that in public (wink)! · I am a loyal friend to a fault. If you hurt my feelings it’s only because I care. I think both make me a good photographer because when you are in front of my lens I want you to know you can trust me and that you feel awesome!

Where is home? My home is in Skippack, PA and my studio (my other home) is right around the corner.

How long have you been a photographer? I’ve been interested in photography since I was a kid. I was fortunate to have a cousin that had a darkroom in his basement and I learned to develop film when I was only in elementary school. I continued to be interested in photography and photographed my son’s elementary school yearbook for three years. I went pro about 5 years ago.

How would you describe your style? I think my style is a little eclectic and a little modern. When I photograph outside I like to stage my clients in front of old doors, dilapidated structures and hit the train tracks once in a while. When I photograph inside my natural light studio I hang white net curtains around the studio, stage my white sofa bed and my painted v-flats to add a change of color. Recently I started to cover up the windows with my v-flats to make it dark and started experimenting with off-camera flash. I like it…we’ll see where it takes me.

How has your new brand changed your business? While studying interactive media I also had to take typography and logo design classes. I put pressure on myself to be everything; photographer, business owner and graphic designer. Um, no! I needed to let that go. I reached out to Susan at Silverbox. Susan took my likes and dislikes and came up with a brand that is Corlee Graphics Photography. The brand has given me a cohesive and professional appearance. Now when I hand out a business card, mail out a brochure or give out a gift certificate I have a sense of pride and that translates to how I present myself to my clients and potential clients. The work is not done yet, I continue to work with Susan to redesign my website, packaging and whatever else Corlee Graphics Photography might need to maintain a consistent look.

What is your favorite photography accessory, other than your camera? Ahh, my new natural light studio. I am simply in love with it! If I can’t answer natural light studio - than I will go with 5 in 1 reflector.

If a photographer were going to take your portrait, where would it be? What would you wear? Since I saw the photos that Sue Bryce took in front of the Eiffel Tower with haute couture gowns, I’m thinking that would do just fine for me. Or it could be in the streets of an old European town or the streets of New York City. But it must include lots of fabulous makeup and someone to do something awesome with my short hair!

What do you enjoy most about being a photographer? I enjoy everything about being a photographer from the initial call. I like helping my clients pick out their outfits for the photo shoot, and of course I love the actual photo shoot. I could be in the studio all day. The one thing about being a photographer that surprises me is how much I love to see the initial look on the clients face as they look at photos of themselves or their loved ones. I really love getting texts  from my clients telling me how much their husband or parents loved their presents and that even Pop-pop got teary eyed.

Michelle Herrick, You're a star!

No, really you are a star Michelle! Your work is such an artform! It's an honor designing with such spectacular gal. Here's a little more about this Arizona-based Portrait and Style photographer.Tell us a little bit about yourself? I grew up in Northern California and moved to Arizona in my early twenties. Shortly after moving to AZ, I met my (future) husband, Scott, and have since had 3 amazing kiddos (our younger 2 are actually twins so my husband thinks we really only have 2 kids since one was a bonus…the nerve! ;-) I have always been into photography…always with a camera for as long as I can remember. I honestly got into photography because I loved taking photos of architecture and still life… but I quickly learned how incredibly lonely and boring that can be so I decided photos of people might actually be more interesting. After my first styled model photo shoot I was hooked… Fashion and editorial photography is my BIG passion and about 2 years ago I made the switch to that being my primary niche, with a secondary (and equally as fun) niche in high school senior portraits.

Where is home? Home is in Mesa, Arizona…a small suburb of Phoenix. How long have you been a photographer? I've been doing this as a business for 5 years… but a photographer for MUCH longer :-) How would you describe your style? This is always a tough one. Ask someone else to to describe your style and they'll nail it in about 3-4 words; describe it yourself and it will usually cause you to have an aneurism. But, for my photography I do like to think of my style as clean, editorial, and with lots of fashion inspiration. For my own personal aesthetic I am more simple, modern, and with little of hints of retro. How has your new brand changed your business? Well I am just releasing the new logo and brand look this week so only time will tell, but what I hope it will do is elevate my business to the next level. For a while now I have wanted…errrr, needed, a cohesive brand look that matched what I do. I offer amazing, high-end, fashion images for designers, models, HS senior clients, businesses, editorial magazines, etc. and to me it's important that my brand sell that.

What do you enjoy most about being a photographer? I love being able to work through a challenge and/or getting to come up with some creative, clever way to approach either a simple subject, or something dramatic and interesting. And beyond that, I really LOVE meeting new people and networking and making connections.

Can you give me a fun, random bit of trivia about yourself? This isn't so much about ME, per se, but about my heritage. My great-grandfather was one of 2 photographers/cinematographers aboard the first expedition to the South Pole. He worked for Paramount Studios and ended up winning an Oscar in cinematography for his work documenting the journey. I knew all this growing up, but it wasn't until last week when I went through bundles and bundles of his old photographs that I could see how this stuff is in my blood.

What is your best business tip for photographers just starting a business? Ready for it… DON'T. SHOOT. EVERYTHING! You will confuse yourself and worse, confuse clients. I tell beginners to take the first 6-12 months shooting everything to find out what they like, after that narrow it down to 1-2 subjects/niches. Those are the niches to go after, to promote, to build a brand around. Then if something comes your way that's out of your niche you have 2 choices: refer the job to a peer (who will appreciate you for it and then return the favor…see what you just did there…building a strong network) OR, do the job because you need to put food on your table and gas in your car, BUT you don't promote it, blog it, or tell anyone about it. Those jobs come in, you do great, amazing work because it's a paycheck to get you to the jobs that you REALLY want.

Tell us a little bit about yourself? I'm a mom to two wiggly boys, married to an wonderful man, and God has blessed me more than I deserve. I love to create. I love coffee and my girlfriends. And I truly love hearing my little boys laugh.

How long have you been a photographer? I've had my business license for 8 years and a love for photography for longer.

How would you describe your style? Simple, timeless, full of emotion

How has your new brand changed your business? It's now a reflection of who I am and the type of photography that I love to create.

What is your favorite photography accessory, other than your camera? It's not a piece of camera equipment, but I love old wooden boxes. They always seem to come in handy no matter who I'm photographing or where. They're natural and just work for so many different things.

Who inspires you? Little people...toddlers, preschoolers, beautiful little tiny babies. I get inspired by these amazing little people and their genuine passion for life.

What do you enjoy most about being a photographer? I love the challenge of capturing the unique beauty in a each person. I truly believe everyone has something really beautiful about them. Sounds cheesy but it's so very true. And I love capturing that.
